A Soyuz spacecraft with three men on board has docked with the International Space Station after a two-day flight from the Baikonur Cosmodrome.
The Soyuz TMA-22 docked to the Russian research module “Poisk” at 09:24 Moscow time.
Two Russian cosmonauts – Anton Shkaplerov and Anatoly Ivanishin – and one NASA astronaut, Daniel Burbank, are replacing the current ISS crew, who return to Earth on November 21.
The three men will remain on board the space station until March.
They are the first people to arrive at the ISS since July. Manned flights to the station were suspended after the launch failure of a Progress freighter in August, and the ISS had been operating with a crew of three rather than the usual six.
