International dance conference CID-UER

The pirouettes along with the dance steps offer health-wellness-concentration of the mind and the professional dancers will hear interesting things about their favorite art, through the international video conference, which will be broadcast online by the International Dance Council (CID) and the Union of Greeks of Romania (UER) at 7 pm on Monday, April 12, 2021. The international teleconference is held in collaboration with three dance schools and on the occasion of World Dance Day, which is celebrated on April 29 of each year.
“As dance professionals, think about your role in the current state of pandemic, lock-up, and curfew. People need you now and they will need you after this crisis. Produce a vaccine against the virus of the soul: You know how to make people dance. Listen to the call, answer it!”, says CID president Alkis Raftis, inviting the dancers to take part in the international teleconference.
The International Dance Council (CID) is a global artistic organization. It was founded in 1973 at the educational-scientific-cultural headquarters of the United Nations in Paris (UNESCO).Today it brings together international, national, and local clubs as well as personalities, who are constantly active in the field of dance in more than 170 countries.
Among the numerous member organizations of CID – UNESCO is the Union of Greeks of Romania, whose fundamental purpose is to preserve and express the national, cultural, linguistic, and religious identity of its members.
The traditional Greek dance

Traditional Greek dance is one of the various fields of action, implemented by the Union of Greeks of Romania. The president of UER is the MP Dragos Gabriel Zisopol, who announced the holding of the international teleconference of dance was speaking on Wednesday 7 April 2021 in the Parliament of Romania.
More than 30 Greek dance groups are currently operating in the regional communities of the Hellenic Union of Romania.
In fact, most of them are registered, since 2011, in the State Office of Inventions and Trademarks (O.S.I.M).
UER and CID-UNESCO
The authentic choreographies, the traditional costumes purchased from Greece together with the experience gained over time by the dance groups of the Union of Greeks of Romania created the conditions for the management of this organization to take the necessary steps in 2018 and at the same time to obtain the title of a full member of the “International Dance Council” – UNESCO for 17 of its ensembles.
Currently, the Union of Greeks of Romania has a total of 20 Greek dance ensembles that are members of the “International Dance Council”. They are groups that bring added value to Romania within UNESCO, internationally.
